Laura Mignanelli studied Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc.in 2011, M.Sc.in 2014) at the Universita’ Politecnica delle Marche (UNIVPM) in Italy. For her master thesis she participated at the Erasmus Program in Karlsruhe at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT). There, she conducted a project together with the company Polytec GmbH and the Städtische Klinikum Karlsruhe.

Since 2015 she is working at the Institute of Electrical Information Technology in the Clausthal University of Technology. Her main research activity is the analysis of vibrations in the human body acquired with laser-Doppler vibrometry.
